YELLOWSTONE ART MUSEUM ANNOUNCES AFFILIATION WITH BILLINGS BOYCHOIR (Billings, MT, February 12, 2010) Billings BoyChoir is pleased to announce its affiliation with the Yellowstone Art Museum, which has agreed to be its fiscal sponsor. As fiscal sponsor, the Yellowstone Art Museum will handle the financial needs of Billings BoyChoir, which does not have independent nonprofit status.
"The museum is pleased to offer this service to the Billings BoyChoir," states Executive Director Robyn G. Peterson, "and we look forward very much to regular Billings BoyChoir performances to accompany museum events. Over the past few years, the YAM has been delighted to be a venue for music-related activities, including the Yellowstone Chamber Players, Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale, and Classics for Kids."
Billings BoyChoir was founded in 2008 as a community-based performing ensemble to offer boys and young men musical training and the opportunity to study and perform contemporary and traditional boychoir literature. Choristers between the ages of 8 and 17 rehearse at Rocky Mountain College, and offer public concerts and private performances throughout the year.
"We are very pleased to be closely affiliated with the Museum," said K. Stuart Smith, Founder and Director of the Billings BoyChoir. "We look forward to the growth, performance opportunities, and new venues afforded by YAM."
