Hand Dyed Scarf with Bead Embellishment

Using colorful dyes, students will spend part of the morning dyeing a silk scarf . Pat Ritter will guide students through the process of using tied resist and other simple dyeing techniques to create designs on their silk scarves. Upon completion of the dye process, Lila Carpenter and Tami Dayley will teach students how to make a coordinating seed bead fringe on the ends of their scarves. Students should be able to complete the fringe in the class and take home a finished scarf. This would make an excellent gift for a special friend or relative. Both Lila and Tami work at "Buy the Bead" in Billings, Montana.
