Migrations: New Directions in Native American Art PDF Print E-mail

November 3, 2008 - January 4, 2009
A traveling exhibition of twelve original prints by six contemporary Native American artists associated with Crow's Shadow and Tamarind presses. The emphasis was on the ways that contemporary Native American artists are shaped by yet reshape and escape from Indian stereotypes. The exhibition was accompanied by a catalog published by University of New Mexico Press. Artists were Steven Deo (Creek), Tom Jones (Ho-Chunk), Larry McNeil (Tlingit and Nisga'a), Ryan Lee Smith Cherokee), Star Wallowing Bull (Chippewa), and Marie Watt (Seneca).
