Details from the Road: Photographs by Tom Ferris PDF Print E-mail

November 6, 2008 - February 1, 2009
This traveling exhibition was circulated by the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture, Bozeman.  It consisted of thirty-five color and black-and-white photographs in two series:  Auto Parts and Roadside Attractions. Auto Parts were detailed color images, which consisted of very close views of peeling paint and corrosion patterns on cars in junkyards--arresting abstract imagery with a seductive quality. Roadside Attractions were scenes most reflecting a spare, dry, barren, and windy interpretation of Montana. This Montana-based artist gave a gallery talk and discussed the use of the pinhole camera. Circulated under the auspices of MAGDA.
