Exhibition opening reception
August 11, 2011, 5:30 p.m.
This stunning exhibition includes all of the Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs since the inception of the prize in 1942. Visitors will see these gripping--sometimes shocking--images reflecting some of the most crucial moments in the past three generations of American history. The stories behind the photographs that won the country's most prestigious photo-journalistic prize give immediacy to images that continue to resonate. From World War II to the 9/11 to Katrina, and around the world in theaters of war or disaster, these images speak to the most urgent and pivotal moments.
This traveling exhibition was developed by the Newseum in association with Business of Entertainment, Inc., New York, Cyma Rubin, curator. The Newseum, an interactive museum of news is located in Washington, D.C. www.newseum.org www.bizzent.com
