wheelchairMobility Impairments and Special Needs
The Museum's exhibitions are accessible by wheelchair, and all public floors of the Museum can be reached by elevator.  Some locations within the Museum are identified in Braille.  The Museum has two buildings, the main museum and the Visible Vault.  Both are wheelchair-accessible.  The path between the buildings crosses North 26th Street.  There is a self-operated wheelchair lift in the vestibule of the Visible Vault.  Please notify us regarding any special needs or concerns.  Interpreters for the hearing-impaired may be arranged with three weeks' notice.  Accessibility contacts are Jeanne Bowman and Jet Holoubek, Visitor Services, (406) 256-6804, x221.

Description of the Tour

Docent-led Tours
Tours are approximately one hour in length. Students will be introduced to the Museum and several of the current exhibitions. Docents have been trained in all aspects of the collection and special exhibitions, visual thinking strategies, and teaching with original objects in a museum setting. Tours can be designed to accommodate special curriculum considerations at the request of the teacher. Please inform us with specific requests at the time of scheduling.

School Tour SizeIMG_0545
Group size is limited to 30 students or one class. Groups of 16 or more will be divided so that tour size is manageable. We ask that there be one adult chaperone from your school for every 10 students.

Cancellation
If you must cancel a scheduled tour, please call our office as soon as possible, so that we may inform the docent(s).
