What is a "docent"? The word docent has its root in a Latin word meaning "to teach." At the Yellowstone Art Museum, docents provide tours to school children and/or adults. They also may provide pre- and post-visit art appreciation presentations in the schools, assist with educational activities at community festivals, or conduct research on the temporary exhibitions.
Qualifications
An interest in and aptitude for teaching, and an affinity for a wide range of types of people
A commitment to learning (no prior art knowledge is required)
An ability and desire to represent the Yellowstone Art Museum
